BARGUNA, Mar 22 (V7N) – Chief Whip of the National Assembly Nurul Islam Moni has stressed the need to inspire the younger generation to actively pursue science and technology, highlighting their importance in today’s world.

He made the remarks while inaugurating the two-day “BSS Sci Magic Carnival 2026,” organized by Barguna Science Society at the Circuit House ground in Barguna on Sunday morning, marking the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

“There is no alternative to science and technology to survive in today’s world,” he said. “We must encourage our new generation to engage in hands-on scientific practice rather than limiting learning to textbooks. Such initiatives foster curiosity, creativity, and innovation.”

The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Animesh Biswas and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Education and ICT) Atiqul Islam as special guests, while it was presided over by BSS President Akil Ahmed.

The carnival features a wide range of attractions, including science exhibitions, science olympiads, and interactive displays, drawing enthusiastic participation from students, children, and visitors of all ages.

A major highlight was a performance by popular magician Rashed Sikder, widely known as the “Mr. Bean of Bengal,” whose act added excitement and entertainment to the event.

Organizers said the primary goal of the carnival is to make science accessible, enjoyable, and engaging for the general public while nurturing a science-minded generation.

Supported by the district administration, the carnival has created a vibrant festive atmosphere in the area and is set to continue through the second and third days of Eid, with strong participation from educational institutions and the wider community.
