Dhaka, Oct 27 (V7N)- Pakistan’s Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik arrived in Dhaka on Sunday (October 26) evening to attend the Bangladesh-Pakistan Joint Economic Commission (JEC) meeting, marking the first such bilateral dialogue in 20 years.
At Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, he was received by Dr. Anisuzzaman Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Advisor, and Imran Haider, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh.
The JEC meeting will be held on Monday (October 27) at Agargaon, with Finance Advisor Saleh Uddin Ahmed leading the Bangladeshi delegation. Senior officials and secretaries from relevant ministries will also participate in the discussions.
This year, a total of five key ministers from Pakistan have visited Dhaka to enhance bilateral cooperation. Meanwhile, Religious Affairs Advisor AFM Khalid Hossain recently visited Pakistan to strengthen diplomatic and cultural ties.
Additionally, Commerce Advisor Sheikh Bashir Ahmed is expected to visit Pakistan later this month to further advance trade and economic relations between the two countries.
