Dhaka, Oct 27 (V7N)- The Election Commission (EC) has finalized the list of polling stations for the 13th National Assembly elections, bringing the total number to 42,761, an increase of 611 compared to the previous election.

Senior Secretary Akhtar Ahmed announced the figures during a press conference at the Election Commission building on Sunday (October 27). He said the total covers 126.3 million voters nationwide.

Regarding party symbols, he noted that if the National Citizens Party (NCP) does not choose a symbol—since the commission does not have a leaf as an option—the EC will allocate a symbol for the party.

The EC is also focusing on registering new political parties and the appointment of foreign observers ahead of the elections. Ahmed added that the commission had originally planned to release the total number of polling stations by October 20, but the announcement was made on October 27.

On questions about the commission’s restructuring or the handling of the cocktail, Akhtar Ahmed said he had no information on the matter.
