Dhaka, Oct 28 (V7N)- To ensure a transparent, peaceful, and secure 13th national election, Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has ordered the rapid purchase of sufficient body-on-cameras for law enforcement agencies.
He issued the directive at a meeting at the State Guest House Jamuna on Tuesday (October 28), emphasizing that all preparations must be completed swiftly to instill voter confidence in a safe and fair election environment.
The Chief Advisor instructed that the procurement and training for body-on-cameras be completed by December, ensuring effective prevention of violence or any undesirable incidents during the election period. He added that a framework must be developed so that no one can exploit opportunities to destabilize the situation.
During the meeting, Faiz Ahmed Tayyab said that initial training for police personnel has already begun using existing body-on-cameras in the country. Home Affairs Advisor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury stated that once the new cameras arrive, training will be extended to police members in all districts.
He added that body-on-cameras will allow central monitoring of polling stations during the election, both from district police offices and police stations.
The meeting was attended by Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, Special Assistant Faiz Ahmed Tayyab, Home Affairs Secretary Nasimul Gani, Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam, and representatives of other relevant organizations.
