Bogra, Jan 02 (V7N) – The nomination of Nagorik Oikya President Mahmudur Rahman Manna for the Bogra-2 constituency has been cancelled due to a discrepancy in the date of signing on his affidavit. The District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Taufiqur Rahman announced the cancellation on Friday (January 2).

The returning officer advised that candidates may appeal if they object to the order. Earlier, he also cancelled the nomination of former Jatiya Party MP Shariful Islam Jinnah for being absconding in connection with a case linked to the July movement.

The remaining valid candidates in the constituency are Mir Shahe Alam (BNP), Maulana Abul Azad Md. Shahadatuzzaman (Jamaat-e-Islami), and Md. Jamal Uddin (Islami Andolan).

It is worth noting that a total of seven candidates submitted nomination papers in the Bogra-2 (Shibganj) constituency, including Selim Sarkar (Public Rights Council) and Rezaul Karim Talu (Independent), whose nominations were also disqualified.
