Dhaka, Feb 14 (V7N) — Chief Advisor to the Interim Government Dr. Muhammad Yunus has congratulated and expressed gratitude to key political leaders for their role in ensuring a peaceful and festive atmosphere during the 13th National Parliament elections.
On Saturday (February 14), Dr. Yunus held separate telephone conversations with Tarique Rahman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, Dr. Shafiqur Rahman of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, and Nahid Islam of the National Citizens Party.
During the calls, the Chief Advisor praised the parties’ moderation, restraint, and responsible behavior, noting that these efforts helped maintain a festive and peaceful environment nationwide throughout the elections.
He first spoke with Tarique Rahman, congratulating the BNP on its overwhelming electoral victory. Subsequently, he thanked Shafiqur Rahman and Nahid Islam for their respective successes in the elections and for demonstrating responsibility in the post-election period.
Dr. Yunus expressed hope that political parties will continue to act cooperatively and positively in the future, contributing to the consolidation of democratic practices. He also called for united efforts to fulfill the expectations of the people of Bangladesh.
