Dhaka, Feb 18 (V7N) — Newly appointed Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives, has announced that arrangements for municipal, city, and upazila elections will be made as soon as possible.
He made the statement on Wednesday (February 18) morning after assuming office at the Secretariat.
“I have come with the challenge of building the country. Efforts will be made to solve the problems of the people in the cabinet,” said the minister, emphasizing his commitment to addressing public concerns.
Mirza Fakhrul also highlighted the need to restore law and order, including tackling mob violence. With the holy month of Ramadan beginning, he added that discussions on commodity prices will be taken up in the cabinet to ensure affordability for citizens.
The minister’s remarks signal a focus on both administrative reform and immediate social and economic issues facing the country.
