Dhaka, Feb 19 (V7N) — Bobby Hajjaj, the newly appointed State Minister for Education in the BNP-led government, announced on Thursday that he will keep politics out of the country’s education system. Speaking at the Secretariat on his first working day, Hajjaj said, “We promise that we will not engage in politics over education. We will build the nation through education.”

Curriculum Expansion: In addition to Bangla and English, education will include languages needed in the labor market.

Mandatory Sports: Sports will become compulsory for students starting at the secondary level.

Technical Education: Technical subjects will also be incorporated at the secondary level.

Transparency & Accountability: Educational institutions and the Ministry of Education will be brought under stricter oversight to ensure efficiency.

National Education Roadmap: The roadmap will be announced after Eid-ul-Fitr with approval from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
Hajjaj emphasized that education is central to realizing the Prime Minister’s vision of a Bangladesh that is skilled, fair-minded, technologically capable, and value-driven. Progress reports will be shared monthly to maintain public accountability.
