Dhaka, Feb 20 (V7N) — Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has congratulated Bangladesh’s Prime Minister Tarique Rahman through a telephone call following the formation of the new government.
According to official sources, the Malaysian premier phoned Tarique Rahman at around 3:00 pm on Friday to convey his greetings and best wishes.
Commitment to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
During the conversation, Anwar Ibrahim expressed Malaysia’s interest in working closely with Bangladesh on various bilateral issues, highlighting the importance of cooperation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Tarique Rahman thanked his Malaysian counterpart for the warm wishes and reaffirmed his commitment to advancing cooperation for mutual development and prosperity.
The call is seen as part of ongoing diplomatic engagements following the swearing-in of the new government, with international leaders reaching out to Dhaka to strengthen relations.
