Speaking at the airport, Shama Obaid said the government considers the safety and welfare of Bangladeshi citizens abroad a top priority.
“The importance of Bangladeshi citizens is paramount to the government. We will stand by Ahmed Ali’s family and provide the necessary assistance,” she said.
State Minister Nurul Haque Noor said that 14 more people were injured during the Iran–Israel conflict and they have been given the highest level of medical treatment. He also urged Bangladeshi expatriates in the Middle East to avoid risky areas amid the ongoing tensions.
After the formalities at the airport, the body was flown to Moulvibazar in Sylhet by a domestic flight. According to relatives, Ahmed Ali had been living in Ajman in the United Arab Emirates for many years.
