Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Indian External Affairs Ministry, emphasized the robust nature of India-Bangladesh relations, asserting that they are "very strong" and will remain so. In response to queries about opposition leaders advocating for an "India out campaign" in Bangladesh, Jaiswal highlighted the comprehensive partnership between the two countries, encompassing various sectors such as economy, trade, investment, development cooperation, connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges. He emphasized the vibrancy of this partnership and reiterated India's commitment to maintaining strong ties with Bangladesh across all aspects of bilateral engagement. Furthermore, Jaiswal noted India's support for the Bangladeshi government during the last general elections, fulfilling its constitutional obligations, while the opposition BNP chose to boycott the polls. Additionally, Foreign Minister Dr. Hasan Mahmud announced that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will undertake her inaugural bilateral visit to New Delhi following the Indian general elections.
