A devastating accident occurred in Jhalakathi when a speeding cement-laden truck lost control, resulting in the loss of at least 14 lives and leaving 25 others injured. The incident took place at Gabkhan Bridge toll plaza.

The identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertained, but the toll of the tragedy includes seven passengers, including children, in a private car who died on the spot after being trapped under the cement-laden truck. Additionally, four individuals from an auto-rickshaw lost their lives in the accident.

The catastrophe unfolded around 1:30 pm, as the truck careened through a line of ten vehicles, including an auto-rickshaw and a private car, stationed at the toll gate. Subsequently, it veered off the road and plunged into a nearby ditch, resulting in eleven fatalities and injuring 25 others.

Authorities swiftly responded to the scene, transporting the injured to various hospitals for treatment.
