In response to the ongoing heatwave, the government has instructed all its primary schools nationwide to suspend daily assemblies until further notice. The Directorate of Primary and Mass Education issued a notification signed by Md Touhidul Islam, assistant director (Policy and Operations, Integrated Education), conveying this directive.

Effective from the reopening of schools on April 21, authorities are mandated to adhere to this order, prioritizing the health and well-being of students amidst the severe heat conditions.

As per the bulletin released by the Bangladesh Meteorological Department at 9 am on Saturday, Khulna division, as well as Rajshahi, Pabna, and Tangail districts, are experiencing a severe heatwave. Additionally, a mild to moderate heatwave prevails over Barisal division, parts of Dhaka and Rajshahi divisions, and Chandpur and Moulvibazar districts, with the possibility of continuation, as per the bulletin's forecast.
