The Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) has initiated a daily water sprinkling campaign from 10 am to 4 pm across 10 zones to alleviate the scorching heat. Utilizing two spray cannons and ten bowsers, approximately 400,000 litres of water are dispersed each day.

As severe heat waves grip the nation, citizens are grappling with exhaustion. The streets of the capital resemble fiery pits, prompting DNCC to implement daily water sprinkling measures to mitigate the heat.

Under the directives of DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam, water sprinkling will continue even on holidays. These efforts aim not only to combat heat but also to reduce road dust and air pollution, with the machines operating throughout the year, irrespective of the season.
