The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of West Bengal continued their search operation on the second day to locate the severed body parts of lawmaker Anwarul Azim Anar. Joining the CID in this effort were members of the Polerhat Police Station, with the search commencing at 12pm on Saturday. The operation, conducted by the disaster response team, is focused on the Jirongachha canal in the village of Krishnamati, located in Bhangar, South 24 Parganas district near Kolkata. Drones are also being used to assist in the search.

Notably, the arrested suspect Jihad Hawlader was not present with the CID during today's operation. Previously, on Friday, Jihad, a resident of Khulna district in Bangladesh, accompanied the CID to identify locations where he disposed of parts of MP Anar's body.

CID sources reported that Jihad Hawlader confessed to the murder of Anwarul Azim Anar, carried out with the assistance of four other Bangladeshi nationals. According to Jihad, Anar's body was dismembered after the murder, with some parts dumped in the village of Krishnamati in Bhangar.
