The state-owned Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) started selling essential commodities at subsidized rates to around one crore family cardholders across the country in preparation for Eid-ul-Azha. The sale, which began on Sunday, includes rice, lentils, sugar, and soybean oil.

State Minister for Commerce Ahasanul Islam Titu inaugurated the month-long sale at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Moni playground in Pallabi, Dhaka, at 9:30 AM. Each cardholder can purchase up to two liters of soybean oil, two kilograms of lentils, five kilograms of rice, and one kilogram of sugar at reduced prices.

The prices are set at Tk 100 per liter for soybean oil, Tk 70 per kilogram for sugar, Tk 60 per kilogram for lentils, and Tk 30 per kilogram for rice. This initiative is part of TCB's regular monthly program to support lower-income families.
