One week later, Unit-1 of Payra Thermal Power Plant in Kolapara, Patuakhali, has resumed production, reducing the load shedding.

Payra, July 02 (V7N)- After seven days, Unit-1 of the country's largest 1320 MW thermal power plant in Kolapara, Patuakhali, has resumed production. This unit was restarted on Saturday evening.

The center is now supplying the entire 1320 MW electricity to the national grid. Earlier, on the evening of June 24, one unit (660 MW) of the two units was shut down for maintenance. This intensified load shedding in the southern region. However, the load shedding will decrease significantly with the operation of Unit-1 at this center.

This has been confirmed by Shah Moni Jiko, Assistant Manager (Investigation) of Payra 1320 MW Thermal Power Plant. He informed that the plan was to start Unit-1 on July 4. However, our officials and employees worked tirelessly and were able to generate electricity from Unit-1 by Monday evening.
