A Dhaka court has ordered the seizure of the immovable properties of Mohammed Enamul Hoque, commissioner of Sylhet Customs, Excise, and VAT Commissionerate, in a case regarding illegal wealth accumulation. Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Mohammed Ash-Shams Joglul Hossain approved the plea by ACC Deputy Director Farzana Yasmin.
ACC counsel Mahmud Hossain Jahangir confirmed that Enamul is accused of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk9.76 crore. The ACC's investigation revealed attempts by Enamul to sell off the properties acquired through corruption, potentially hindering their seizure by the state.
