Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman emphasized the necessity of adhering to court orders, stating that police will not tolerate any violations of the law. "Everyone has an obligation to follow the court order, so police will not accept any violation of the law," he remarked during a virtual address to journalists at a function organized by the Bangladesh Crime Reporters Association (CRAB) at the Nasrul Hamid auditorium.

The event, which included a sports competition and fruits festival, was chaired by CRAB President Kamruzzaman Khan. Rahman highlighted that the Supreme Court's Appellate Division has issued a one-month stay on the High Court's judgment regarding the quota system in government jobs, reinforcing the importance of respecting judicial decisions. "Quota system in government jobs is a matter of court. Everyone should have faith in the court. There is an obligation to comply with the court orders. I think everyone should do that," he added.

He also acknowledged the critical role journalists play in supporting police efforts to ensure justice through investigative reporting. Rahman praised CRAB for its various initiatives aimed at the well-being of journalists, including sports competitions and social activities.

CRAB President Kamruzzaman Khan expressed gratitude to the journalists and guests for attending despite the heavy rain. Special guests included senior executive director of Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC FM Iqbal Bin Anwar (Don) and senior deputy executive Md Rabiul Islam Milton.

The event was also attended by Dhaka Reporters Unity (DRU) President Syed Shukur Ali Shuvo, BFUJ-Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists treasurer and former CRAB President Khairuzzaman Kamal, and former CRAB Presidents senior journalist Parvez Khan, Abul Khair, Mirza Mehdi Tamal, and Isharaf Hossain Isa.
