Dhaka, Aug 06 (V7N) - In a significant development, Nahid Islam, a leading coordinator of the Anti-Discrimination Students' Movement, has announced that the outline for an interim national government will be proposed within the next 24 hours.
In a statement released Monday night, Nahid Islam emphasized that the interim government will be established through extensive consultations to ensure broad representation. He affirmed, "We will discuss with everyone to guarantee that all voices are heard and included in the formation of the interim government."
Islam also declared that the movement will only support a government that has the backing of both students and citizens. He further honored those who lost their lives during the movement, declaring them as "national heroes."
"We demand the immediate release of all those detained and call upon freedom-seeking students to remain on the streets until the interim national government is established," Nahid stated.
The movement's primary demand remains the removal of Sheikh Hasina and the dismantling of what they describe as a "fascist" system. "We believe that simply removing an individual does not resolve the underlying issue. We aim to create a new Bangladesh with a reformed political structure that prevents the rise of fascism," he added.
This development follows Sheikh Hasina’s resignation as prime minister and her departure from the country amid ongoing anti-government protests.
