Dhaka, Aug 06 (V7N) — The Bangladesh Secretariat experienced significant unrest on Tuesday as rumors of possible attacks and arson led officials and employees to hastily leave their offices.

According to sources within the Secretariat, the Ministry of Home Affairs had issued advisories to all ministries, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing safety. However, officials from the Ministry of Home Affairs declined to comment on the situation.

The situation was exacerbated by reports that police were unable to guarantee security within the Secretariat. As a result, many staff members chose to evacuate their workplaces due to safety concerns.

By 12:30 p.m., employees had vacated the railway building in a state of alarm. Staff from various departments, including the Electricity Board, Food Department, Education Department, and Registration Department, located on Dhaka’s Paltan and Goni roads, also left their offices.

The rapid evacuation reflects growing concerns among government officials and employees about their safety amid the ongoing uncertainty.
