Nobel laureate economist Dr Muhammad Yunus is expected to return to Bangladesh on Thursday afternoon.
Muhammad Yunus will arrive at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka on an Emirates flight from Dubai at 2:10pm, subject to the flight being on time, reads a Yunus Centre press release.
Dr Yunus is set to head an interim government following the resignation of Sheikh Hasina as prime minister on Monday in the face of massive protests.
Early on Wednesday, Nahid Islam, a key coordinator of the Anti-discrimination Student Movement, told reporters outside Bangabhaban that the administration of the oath of the interim government would be possible within 24 hours or slightly more.
He said that Dr Muhammad Yunus's name was proposed during the meeting. The President also agreed, saying the interim government would be formed under his leadership.
Thirteen coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement went to Bangabhaban immediately after 6pm on Tuesday to discuss the country's current situation and the structure of the interim government.
