A case has been filed against 16 people, including former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and former road transport and bridges minister Obaidul Quader, in connection with the death of Zubayd Hossain Emon, a student of Darunnajat Islamia Madrasa in the capital's Mohammadpur Police Station.

Abdullah Abu Sayeed Bhuiyan filed the case with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Rajesh Chowdhury on Thursday.

At that time, the court accepted the statement of the plaintiff and ordered the Mohammadpur police station to accept the case.

Zubayd Hossain Emon was killed by shots fired from a helicopter during the student protests.

Other accused in the case are former home minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, law minister Anisul Huq, Local Government and Rural Development Minister Tajul Islam, foreign minister Hasan Mahmud, state minister for information Mohammad A Arafat and others.

Unnamed individuals of RAB's helicopter patrol team and their commanding officers were also accused in the case.
