Dhaka, August 17 — Four new advisers were sworn into Bangladesh's interim government at a ceremony held at Bangabhaban on Friday afternoon. President Md. Sahabuddin administered the oath, with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus present.

The newly appointed advisers include economist Wahiduddin Mahmud, former secretaries Ali Imam Majumder and Fawzul Kabir Khan, and retired Lt. Gen. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. Their inclusion follows the formation of the interim government, led by Nobel laureate Muhammad Yunus, after the fall of Sheikh Hasina's administration on August 8.

The interim government's journey began with the swearing-in of Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus and 13 other advisers on August 8. The original group of advisers includes Anti-discrimination student movement coordinators Nahid Islam and Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan, along with Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Farida Akhtar, Nurjahan Begum, Sharmin Murshid, Salehuddin Ahmed, M Sakhawat Hossain, Professor Asif Nazrul, Adilur Rahman Khan, AF Hasan Arif, Md. Tauhid Hossain, and AFM Khalid Hasan.

Due to their absence from Dhaka, three advisers were unable to take the oath on August 8. These members, Supradeep Chakma, Professor Bidhan Ranjan Roy, and heroic freedom fighter Farooq-e-Azam, were later sworn in.

With these latest appointments, the interim government under Muhammad Yunus continues to shape its leadership as it navigates the country's transition following the recent political changes.
