The portfolios for the newly appointed advisers to the interim government were announced today, alongside a redistribution of responsibilities among the existing advisers. Wahiduddin Mahmud has been assigned to oversee the Ministry of Planning and the Ministry of Education, while Ali Imam Majumder has been attached to the Chief Adviser’s Office. Meanwhile, Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan will handle the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, and the Ministry of Railways. Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has been given the responsibilities of the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Agriculture.
In addition to these new appointments, the responsibilities of the current advisers have been adjusted. Salehuddin Ahmed will now manage the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce. Dr. Asif Nazrul has been entrusted with the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, and the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Adilur Rahman Khan will oversee the Ministry of Industries and the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, while Syeda Rizwana Hasan will handle the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, as well as the Ministry of Water Resources. Md Nahid Islam is now in charge of the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, along with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Additionally, Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan will manage the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Brigadier General (retd) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain has been assigned to the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, and Farooq-e-Azam will oversee the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs and the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. The responsibilities of the other advisers remain unchanged.
