Dhaka, Aug 21 - Shakil Ahmed, former chief news editor of Ekattor TV, and his wife, Farzana Rupa, former chief reporter and anchor, were detained at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Wednesday along with their daughter.

The family was scheduled to depart for Paris via Turkish Airlines at 6:20 AM. However, due to a case filed with Shahbagh police station, the Special Branch of police did not grant them departure clearance.

Subsequently, the Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Detective Branch escorted them to the DB office for questioning.
