Dhaka, August 25 — The Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief has reported that 18 people have died due to recent floods across seven districts in Bangladesh, affecting approximately 5.2 million people. This information was shared by Disaster and Relief Adviser Farooq-e-Azam during a press conference on Sunday.

Adviser Farooq-e-Azam stated that the flood situation is gradually improving and that the Ministry is continuing its efforts to provide assistance to the affected people. He mentioned that Deputy Commissioners (DCs) in the flood-affected districts have been instructed to coordinate their efforts with the coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, the army, navy, air force, and other volunteers to ensure effective distribution of relief materials.

Relief materials are being delivered to remote areas by both road and air, ensuring that aid reaches those in need. Additionally, a field hospital has been set up in Feni to provide medical care to those affected by the floods.
