Teknaf, Aug 29 (V7N) - The conflict in Myanmar's Rakhine state has escalated, with repeated explosions causing alarm in the Teknaf region of Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh. The intense situation has led to increased patrols and surveillance by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Coast Guard along the Naf River and the border area.

Rohingya refugees in Bangladesh have reported over the phone that hostilities resumed on Wednesday night after a brief lull. From Monday evening through Thursday morning, loud explosions were heard continuously. On Wednesday night, the Arakan Army (AA) seized control of five areas near Maungdaw Township, including Sudhapara, Mongnipara, Sikdar Para, and Ukil Para. Villagers were forced to evacuate due to mortar fire and drone strikes.
