Dhaka, September 01 — Muhammad Fawzul Kabir Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, has issued several directives aimed at implementing the government's expenditure reduction policy. These directives were communicated through a circular sent from the advisor's office on Sunday.
The circular outlines specific instructions for the Ministry of Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources, the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges, and the Ministry of Bangladesh Railways. The key directives issued by the adviser include:
1. Minimizing Food Expenses During Meetings: All office meetings should be conducted with minimal food provisions to avoid unnecessary spending.
2. Limiting the Use of Vehicles: When traveling outside Dhaka, the number of vehicles should be kept to a minimum. Carpooling is encouraged to reduce transportation costs.
3. Avoiding Extravagance: During the adviser’s visits, all forms of extravagance should be strictly avoided to conserve resources.
4. Speedy Implementation of Cost Reduction Plans: All previously instructed cost reduction plans must be implemented promptly to align with the government's fiscal policies.
The notification specifies that these instructions apply to the three ministries under the adviser's oversight, as well as the five departments and all offices, organizations, or companies associated with them.
These measures reflect the government's commitment to reducing public expenditure amidst economic challenges, aiming to ensure efficient use of resources across all levels of governance.
