Dhaka, Sept 7 (V7N): Religious Affairs Adviser AFM Khalid Hossain announced today that madrasa students, alongside local residents, will help guard temples during the upcoming Durga Puja to prevent any potential attacks or sabotage. He made the statement at a gathering at the Rajshahi Islamic Foundation.

"Students of madrasas have never been involved in terrorism. Claims to the contrary are part of a conspiracy and misinformation spread by the previous government," Khalid Hossain remarked.

He condemned attacks on places of worship, saying that those responsible for targeting mosques, temples, and shrines are "enemies of humanity and criminals" who will face legal consequences.

The adviser also addressed recent incidents of violence, noting, "Just as homes of Hindus were targeted following political changes, homes of Muslims have also been attacked. These incidents should not be viewed differently."

Additionally, Khalid Hossain clarified that there are no plans to change the national anthem, adding that the interim government will not engage in controversial decisions.

He emphasized that the interim government aims to maintain friendly relations with India.
