Dhaka, Sep 18 (V7N)— In a late-night operation on Tuesday, joint forces raided the residence of former Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in the Manipuripara area of Dhaka, resulting in the arrest of four individuals and the recovery of various items.

According to the Tejgaon division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), the operation lasted for approximately three hours. During the raid, authorities recovered two deer horns, a zebra skin, a deer skin, and empty bottles of liquor and phencidil from the room of Shafi Moddasir Khan Jyoti, son of the former minister.

In addition to the seized wildlife items and narcotics, the joint forces also confiscated three lakh taka in cash, two mobile phones, and other valuables. Four suspects were arrested during the raid, and a theft case will be filed against them at Tejgaon Police Station.

Jyoti, currently in police custody in Ashulia, is under investigation and is being questioned as part of the operation. Tejgaon Zone's Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Sairul Kabir confirmed that the authorities would apply for an additional remand to continue questioning Jyoti about the weapons and drugs recovered during the raid.

This follows Jyoti's arrest last Friday by Dhaka District Police, linked to a separate case of attempted murder. On September 11, Rabiul Sunny, the victim of the alleged attack, filed a case against 30 individuals, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, at Ashulia Police Station, where Jyoti is named as the fourth accused.

Jyoti was remanded for four days by the Dhaka Chief Judicial Magistrate Court last Saturday, following a request by the investigating officer from Ashulia Police Station. Further legal actions are expected to follow pending ongoing investigations.
