Dhaka, Sep 19 (V7N) – The Local Government Division has appointed Additional Secretary Md. Fazlur Rahman as the temporary Managing Director (MD) of Dhaka Water Supply and Sewerage Authority (WASA).

The appointment was confirmed in a notification issued by the Local Government Department on Wednesday, which was signed by Deputy Secretary Abdur Rahman. The decision comes under Section 28(2) of the Water Supply and Sewerage Authority Act, 1996, which allows for such an appointment to ensure the smooth management of daily operations and to continue the implementation of ongoing development projects within Dhaka WASA.

In addition to his current duties as the Additional Secretary of the Water Supply Division, Md. Fazlur Rahman will now take on the role of Managing Director of Dhaka WASA. During this period, he will receive a duty allowance as per the established regulations.

This appointment aims to maintain the momentum of WASA's projects while ensuring effective leadership within the organisation.
