Dhaka, Oct 22 (V7N) – The National Board of Revenue (NBR) experienced a decline in revenue collection during the first quarter (July-September) of the 2024-25 fiscal year, with total collections falling by 6.1% compared to the same period last year.

According to NBR's data, the revenue collection target for the first quarter was set at Tk96,499.90 crore. However, the board managed to collect only Tk70,902.90 crore, down from Tk75,487.70 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.

For September alone, the target was Tk39,324 crore, but actual collections totaled Tk29,002.68 crore, reflecting a significant shortfall.
