The maximum retail price of the state-owned sugar production mills has been established by the Bangladesh Sugar and Food Industry Corporation (BSFIC) at Tk 160 per kg, an increase of Tk 20 per kg.

BSFIC sent an official circular on Thursday announcing this price.

According to the announcement, the price at which sugar produced by the BSFIC is sold has been set to reflect both the domestic and international market prices of the product.

The corporation's 50 kg bag of sugar is being sold at Mill Gate for Tk 7500 (Tk 150 per kg) and at the dealer level for Tk 7850 (Tk 157 per kg).

The maximum retail selling price in super shops, basements, and marketplaces of buildings housing the sugar industry is Tk160 per kg. The sales rate of 1.0 kg of packed sugar in mill gates or corporate super stores of the corporation has been fixed at Tk155.
