The first batch comprising 1,650 tons of onions, which arrived in the country on Sunday night, is currently being distributed to dealers in Dhaka and Chittagong.

According to Gholam Khorshed, additional director of the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB), the consignment, transported via 42 wagons, reached Sirajganj Bazar rail yard at approximately 6 am on Monday. Unloading operations commenced around 9 am.

Out of the total consignment, 1,000 tons of onions are slated to be allocated to 100 dealers in the Dhaka district.
