The Dhaka Stock Exchange's (DSE) benchmark index, DSEX, experienced a significant surge today, climbing by 277 points within the first 25 minutes of trading and reaching the 6,000 mark for the first time in five months.

By 10:25 a.m., the DSEX had soared to 6,202 points, while the DS30, the index tracking blue-chip stocks, saw an increase of 118 points, reaching 2,251.

The turnover for the session stood at Tk399 crore.

During this period, 363 stocks advanced, 24 declined, and 6 remained unchanged.
