Dhaka, Sept 02 (V7N): Dr. Salehuddin Ahmed, the Finance Adviser in the interim government, announced on Monday that the Tk5, Tk10, and Tk20 banknotes will be gradually replaced due to their significant wear and tear.

During a press briefing at the Ministry of Commerce, Dr. Salehuddin, who also serves as the Commerce Adviser, urged the public to handle currency with greater care.

He also mentioned that a meeting might be scheduled for the end of this month or the next to review the budget for the current fiscal year 2024-25. Additionally, projects under the Annual Development Programme (ADP) included in the budget will be reconsidered during a high-level meeting.

Earlier in the day, Dr. Salehuddin met with officials from the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) and discussed strategies to boost exports.
