Dhaka, Nov 10 (V7N) — In a significant development, 10 individuals have been arrested by Dhaka Metropolitan Police following an investigation into a viral audio clip that allegedly instructed members of the ruling Awami League party to destabilize the country. The audio, attributed to Awami League leader and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, reportedly directed party activists to use images of the newly elected U.S. President and the U.S. flag during unauthorized protests and rallies, with the aim of inciting violence and damaging public property.

Sources indicate that the directive was designed to provoke tensions in Bangladesh’s diplomatic relations with the United States by using these images and flags as shields during protests. The plan reportedly included recording footage of the destruction and desecration of these symbols to fuel unrest. The government has claimed that the actions were part of a broader conspiracy to undermine Bangladesh’s long-standing relationship with the United States.

Acting on intelligence reports, police launched a series of raids across various areas in Dhaka on the night of November 9. During the operations, authorities seized a large quantity of provocative posters, photographs, placards, and cash from the arrested suspects, all of which were reportedly linked to the plot.

The police have emphasized their commitment to thwarting any conspiracies against the state and to maintaining law and order. Investigations are ongoing, with efforts to apprehend others involved in funding, instigating, or facilitating the illegal activities.
