Savar, Nov 12 (V7N) — Police recovered the body of a young woman identified as Shanta, a garment worker originally from Tangail, with her head and wrists severed in Savar's Birulia area late Monday night. Authorities later located her head and hands about 150 yards away from the initial discovery site.

The discovery unfolded when local residents noticed the headless body and alerted the police. Officers from the Birulia Police Outpost under the Savar Model Police Station arrived promptly, securing the area and beginning an investigation.

Wazed Ali, Sub-Inspector of the Birulia Police Outpost, confirmed the details of the case, stating that the body had visible injury marks. The police also arrested her husband, Nayan, for questioning related to the incident.

Following initial examination, Shanta’s remains have been sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital in Dhaka for an autopsy. Investigators are awaiting further details from the post-mortem report to determine the full scope of the incident.
