Dhaka, Nov 20 (V7N) – A violent clash between students of Dhaka College and City College erupted in the Science Lab area of the capital on Wednesday afternoon, leaving at least 31 people injured, including children. The incident disrupted traffic and created chaos in the bustling area.

The clash began around 2:30 pm, reportedly following an incident where Dhaka College students vandalized a bus in the Science Lab area. This provoked a reaction from City College students, escalating into a physical altercation.

The injured were rushed to various hospitals, including Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Popular Medical College Hospital, Gonoshasthaya Hospital, and Green Life Hospital. Many of them sustained injuries during the scuffle, while others were hurt in the ensuing commotion.

The clash caused a massive traffic jam, paralyzing roads in and around the Science Lab area. Commuters faced significant delays as authorities worked to restore order.Police and army personnel were deployed to the scene to control the situation. Despite their efforts, eyewitnesses reported that tensions remained high in the area.

Law enforcement is investigating the root cause of the clash and is working to prevent further incidents. Authorities are urging both student bodies to maintain peace and resolve disputes amicably.

The incident highlights the growing concern over student violence in educational institutions and its broader impact on public safety and city life.
