Dhaka, Jan 17 (V7N)— A group of Dhaka University students staged a protest rally at the Raju Sculpture on Friday afternoon, demanding the resignation of Home Affairs Advisor Jahangir Alam Chowdhury of the interim government. The students also burned an effigy of the Home Affairs Advisor during the rally.

The protest, which took place at around 3:30 pm, was organized by the 'Anti-Fascist Coalition' at Dhaka University. The students voiced their dissatisfaction with the Advisor’s handling of several key issues, including the police attack on students, the failure to ensure justice for those responsible for the July coup massacre, and his inability to manage the law and order situation in the country.

Tasneem Bin Mahfuz, the convener of the 'Anti-Fascist Coalition,' expressed strong criticism of Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, stating that his repeated wrong decisions warranted his immediate removal from office.

The rally concluded with the students reiterating their demand for a change in leadership, highlighting concerns over the growing unrest in the country.
