Dhaka, Jan 05 (V7N)- A daring robbery occurred at New Rana Jewelers in Chandrima Bazar, Mohammadpur, in the early hours of Monday (January 5). The shop owner reported that the gang stole about 70 bhari of gold, 600 bhari of silver, and four lakh taka in cash.
According to the owner, the robbers broke the shutter and kechi gate of the shop to gain entry. CCTV footage shows several masked individuals dismantling the locks and ransacking the store. They even took a chest containing valuables before fleeing the scene in a pickup van prior to dawn.
Law enforcement authorities have launched an investigation. Police teams are reviewing the CCTV recordings and tracking the movement of the suspects to apprehend them and recover the stolen items.
The incident has sparked concern among traders and residents in Mohammadpur about rising street and business robberies in the capital.
