According to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Habibur Rahman, there are 2146 polling places in the metropolis, and half of them are deemed insecure as of Monday, January 1.

"DMP has implemented a security strategy, identifying half of the polling stations out of 2146 as susceptible,” he stated in an interview with media following the textbook distribution at Rajarbagh Police Lines School and College.

He further asserted that DMP had implemented robust security measures.
According to him, all election-related preparations are well underway, and the polls will take place in a free, fair, and orderly manner on January 7.

The Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner said that Ansar members will continue to work alongside police to uphold law and order inside voting places, with patrol teams and a striking force handling their tasks outside.
