Dhaka, Aug 24 (V7N) – The final Grand Slam of the year, the US Open, begins today, Sunday (August 24), in New York. Matches are set to start at 9 pm Bangladesh time, drawing tennis fans from around the world.

This year’s tournament has set a new record in prize money, highlighting the competition’s high stakes. The total prize pool has been increased to $90 million, up from $75 million last year, making it the highest of any Grand Slam in history.

The prize for the men’s and women’s singles champions has also risen sharply, from $3.6 million in 2024 to $5 million in 2025.

The tournament will run until September 7, featuring top-ranked players competing across multiple categories.
