Dhaka, Jan 09 (V7N) — Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Thursday forecasted that a mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of the north and north-western region for the next 24 hours that began in the morning.
“Mild cold wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi, Pabna, Naogaon, Panchagarh and Chuadanga and it may spread”, said the forecast which began from 9am.
A ridge of subcontinental high extends up to West Bengal and adjoining the Western part of Bangladesh. A seasonal low lies over South Bay, extending it tough to North Bay.
The weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.
Moderate to dense fog may occur at places over the country during midnight to morning.
The country's night temperature may fall by (1-2)°C, and the day temperature may rise by (2-3)°C.
The country’s maximum temperature on Wednesday was recorded 28.6°C at Teknaf and the minimum temperature on Thursday was recorded 9.1°C at Badalgachhi.
The sunset on Thursday at 5:29pm and rises on Friday at 6:43am in the capital.
