Dinajpur, Jan 21 (V7N)— The northern district of Dinajpur is experiencing a significant drop in temperature, with a thick blanket of fog covering the area. On Tuesday, the lowest temperature recorded in the district was 10.2 degrees Celsius, according to the Dinajpur Regional Meteorological Office.

The chilling weather, combined with dense fog and icy winds, has severely disrupted public life. Working-class individuals, in particular, are bearing the brunt of the cold as they brave the bone-chilling conditions to reach their workplaces.

Roads and highways are shrouded in fog, with vehicles moving cautiously at reduced speeds, headlights switched on even during daylight hours. Despite the freezing temperatures, people are seen hurrying through the streets, either to fulfill their daily obligations or to secure their livelihoods.

Tofazzal Hossain, Officer-in-Charge of the Dinajpur Regional Meteorological Office, reported that the temperature was recorded at 10.2°C at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, with humidity levels reaching 97 percent. He also warned that the cold spell is expected to persist for several more days, urging residents to take necessary precautions.

As the chill deepens, the district braces for continued hardship, particularly for those who rely on outdoor work for their daily sustenance.
