Chuadanga, Dec 31 (V7N) — The sun has remained hidden over Chuadanga for the past two days as dense fog continues to cover the area since Wednesday morning (December 31). Cold winds are intensifying the chill, making public life increasingly difficult.
The lowest temperature recorded in the district this morning was 8 degrees Celsius. Very few people are venturing outdoors in the morning, and many are trying to stay warm by burning straw under layers of winter clothing. Laborers and daily-wage earners are experiencing heightened hardship due to the bitter cold.
The thick fog has also disrupted normal traffic movement. Even during the day, vehicles are navigating the roads with headlights on. Agricultural activities have been hampered, and locals report that the falling temperature is affecting daily work and income.
Jaminur Rahman, in-charge of the Chuadanga Meteorological Office, said the temperature may drop further in the coming days. “A cold wave is expected, which will make the chill even more severe. However, if the clouds clear, the sun may become visible,” he added.
Residents have been urged to take precautions against the cold and avoid unnecessary outdoor activities.
