The Bangladesh Meteorological Department anticipates widespread rain and thunderstorms across eight divisions, with a mild heat wave in Rajshahi and Dinajpur expected to subside.

The forecast from the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) indicates a wet and stormy 24 hours ahead for Dhaka and seven other divisions, starting from 6pm on Sunday. The weather bulletin predicts rain or thunder showers, accompanied by gusty or squally winds, in several areas across the Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Sylhet divisions. Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions are also expected to experience similar conditions, with the possibility of hail in isolated places.

As the country braces for this inclement weather, temperatures are projected to drop by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius both during the day and at night. Meanwhile, the mild heat wave currently affecting Rajshahi and Dinajpur is likely to diminish. Rajshahi recently recorded the nation’s highest temperature at 36.7 degrees Celsius, but relief may be on the horizon as the weather system brings cooler air.
