Dhaka, Sep 14 (V7N) – The Bangladesh Meteorological Department has forecasted storms in 15 regions across the country, with wind speeds reaching up to 80 km per hour in some areas. The warning, issued on Saturday, advises caution for river ports and local residents.
Meteorologist Dr. Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallick provided the forecast, noting that storms with wind speeds of 60 to 80 km per hour may affect Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barisal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Comilla, Chittagong, and Cox's Bazar. River ports in these areas have been instructed to display naval warning signal number 2.
In addition, regions including Rajshahi, Rangpur, Dhaka, Faridpur, Sylhet, and Mymensingh may experience gusty winds with speeds of 45 to 60 km per hour. River ports in these areas have been advised to display warning signal number 1.
The forecast also predicts rain or thundershowers across these regions, urging residents and authorities to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
