Dhaka, Oct 03 (V7N): Two cases have been lodged with the International Crimes Tribunal against 30 individuals, including Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, alleging involvement in the massacres that occurred in Laxmipur and Jatribari during protests organized by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement.
Members of the National Citizens' Committee, which is affiliated with the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement, were present while filing the cases with the Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunal today (October 3).
As per the National Citizens' Committee, Shaheed Shakib Hasan, a student enrolled in a BA (Pass) course at Dania College, was shot dead at the pocket gate near the Qutubkhali Kajla Petrol Pump under the Jatrabari police station during the "Complete Shutdown" program called by the movement. Additionally, on August 4, Shahid Osman Patwari, also known as Osman Gani, a student from Chittagong Polytechnic Institute, was fatally shot in the North Temuhani area of Laxmipur city.
The cases were filed by Md Mortuza Alam, the father of Shaheed Shakib Hasan, and Md Abdur Rahman, the father of Shaheed Osman Gani, under Sections 3(2)(a), 3(2)(c), 3(2)(h), 4(1), and 4(2) of the International Criminal Tribunal Act, 1973.
